Grand Forks (May 31, 2024): The HIVE recently formed a partnership with Fargo Patent and Business Law to enhance the services for the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) members and tenants.

The HIVE membership has grown exponentially in the past year. It is a value-add to have experts on-site who can provide informal thoughts on best practices in the unmanned aerial sector. Fargo Patent and Business Law has offered UAS-specific training at the HIVE, which was well-received by members. The HIVE seeks to support the sustainable growth of companies while connecting members to resources for assistance in navigating this challenging sector in Grand Forks.

Managing Director of the HIVE, Johnny Ryan, states, “We are so pleased to add Fargo Patent & Business Law as mentoring members at the HIVE. Their wealth of industry knowledge from a legal perspective is very unique and uncommon. The UAS companies in the HIVE are scaling at different rates and frequently need access to legal professionals. Fargo Patent & Business Law can offer best practices, trainings, and informal feedback.”

“North Dakota is rapidly emerging as an innovation epicenter, with Grand Forks leading the charge into the future of UAS and autonomous systems,” stated Austan Wellman, Intellectual Property Attorney at Fargo Patent and Business Law (FPL). “We’re thrilled to join The HIVE, supporting groundbreaking innovators in the region. FPL is delighted to offer the members and the broader community ongoing Upskill training sessions throughout the year, focusing on critical legal issues every forward-thinking business should consider. We’re dedicated to empowering innovators by helping them establish robust legal frameworks, covering essential areas such as intellectual property protection, business investments, and contractual agreements.”

Training events presented by the HIVE are free for members and a nominal fee for non-members. For more information on programs by partners, sponsors, and members can be found at www.hivegf.com.
